dear super-annie,
my-oh-my what a big girl you are turning into. right before my eyes. your sentences are becoming more structured every day, dare i say you have used a few noun-preposition-noun sentences and some noun-verb combos...you're getting quite good, honey. quite good. your mommy - on the other hand - does not have a great grasp of grammar. ok, but not great. if i had to diagram a complex sentence right now, i'm not sure i could rise to the challenge. if only that show was on pbs still - "Write Channel". i think i'm the only person who remembers this show from being home sick in the 80s. they would diagram sentences and do this whole thing where they'd chant "palabra jot, palabra jot" and then when they'd put a period at the end of the sentence it would make this great sound...and at the end of the show the little bug guy would be crashed out in front of the tv that was playing the national anthem...
anyone?
well, annie, i digress, but you are missing out on some of the GREAT, QUALITY tv that was out there for us when we were kids. sure, you have dora and she teaches you spanish, but i'm not so sure she's any better than "The Letter People", "Read It" or classic "Sesame Street". seriously. "ReadIt" was my favorite. the guy would illustrate the story WHILE he read it to you - it was the best. i'll never forget when he did one of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. those were so awesome. that and "The Boxcar Children" - another classic along with "The Wolves of Willoughby Chase", "How to Eat Fried Worms", "Harry Potter" and others that we will read at bedtime in a few years.
anyway, peanut, you are getting so big. i'm trying to think of all the funny things you do and say now and my memory is failing me. one day yours will too, so lay off. yesterday you were in the kitchen with me while i was cooking dinner and you started spinning in circles. you spun and spun and then you fell and you sat on the ground for a minute to put your brain back in your head and you smiled and said "Wow!" and then you stood up and did it again and again. i was dying laughing. i putthe video up on youtube.com so that your grandparents and everyone can see how silly you are. you can just follow this link and it should take you to my channel on you tube and you can see the latest videos - annie spinning and jasper giggling.
you're so sweet, too, my darling girl. i know i spend a lot of time talking about how naughty you are and how terrible 2 you are, but you are also one of the sweetest little girls i know. case in point: this morning when jasper was getting his shots you couldn't wait until he was done so you could give him a big hug and say "ok japper". also - every time you watch barney you come charging out of the room when they get to the end to sing "i love you..." because you have to find me and your daddy and give us a "great big hug and a kiss from me to you". i melt every time. even the time you hugged me so hard my lip split from it's encounter with your skull. in the morning when you wake up you run to me or daddy when we come to get you and you jump in our arms and hug us and you're still half asleep and you lay your head down on our shoulders. this is the only time you do that.
i think i'm adjusting to the 2-year old thing now. i know what will set you off and for the most part, we agree to disagree about your tantrums. you want something, i won't give in...tantrum. tantrum leads to time out. annie no likey time out. tantrum ends. sometime though, i HAVE to get one of these outbursts on video because you will definitely want to see it someday. you'll think i exaggerate when i tell tales of your tantrums and then you'll realize i'm not exaggerating at all.
i love you to pieces, little anita,
your mommy

Dude, the secret admirer is starting to wig me out. How did they know how to add a link to their name? They're very smart. Is it Jay? But I don't think its Jay. Hmmmmm...
As for your shows, the only one I remember is Sesame Street. That sentance one seems weird and I don't think I would have watched that. Seems weird, like maybe your fever was too high when you were watching it and you aren't quite remembering it right....loves
I remember watching all those with you, too. Did I make you watch PBS since you were missing school? Of course, no soaps allowed on sick days! Ha!
hee hee. it's not jay - he is "The Godfather". mom, i was like 5-9 when i was watching those shows...not 14. of course i was watching pbs.
