One Time, About a Month Ago

...mama and papa came to visit. as usual, it went to fast. not as usual, we had about one day where we could actually sit on the patio for gin and tonics. otherwise, it was cold. i mean, i even think mom and dad would agree it was cold. ask daddy-tough-guy how warm he was touring the Johnson Space Center outside that day. i'm just sayin'. we are pansies, yes, but it was still cold.

anywho. so we went to the Johnson Space Center. it was v. interesting and fun, though i didn't get to look around quite as much as i would have without the kids with us. they were only interested in two things: play zone and gift shop. they did think it was pretty cool to see the mock-up of the shuttle, but annie's fun ended when she turned around at one point and daddy wasn't there and she thought she was lost (even though we didn't lose her). it was actually her first time being "lost" - she was so sad and so scared it just broke my heart. but do you remember that? losing your mom in the department store or wherever? it's horrifying. ugh. anyway, she clung to us after that and soon after decided that everything was "too boring" for her. as we waited in line to go on that little movie-ride-thing where it feels like you are going on the rollercoaster, she threw herself on the floor and said, "i don't want to do this, it's too BORING!" and then as soon as the ride was over (and she'd been giggling the whole time) she said, "let's go on that again!" typical.

anyway, i completely failed on taking pictures during mama and papa's visit. but i do think this one i have really sums up how we all feel when it's time for them to go home:

A Message From Our Sponsor

which is me. and which is the reason i'm posting this message.

confused yet? perfect.

recently, my dear cousin did a little research on who was viewing her - at-that-point-still-public - blog, and she came across some alarming information. it turns out the interweb is just as kooky and large and frightening place as you always hoped it wasn't. she wound up finding that some of her pictures of her babies had been taken and placed on websites with - for lack of a better word - criminal content.

it is because of that i will be following in elizabeth's footsteps and making my blog private - effective immediately. i'm sorry to annoy you readers reader by having you have to log in, but that's just the way it is. it would be one thing if the purpose of this blog were to provide additional income to my family and therefore would need to be public, but it's not. the purpose of this blog is because i am too lazy to actually MAKE baby books for my kids and to allow my rellies to keep up on what we're doing down here in texas-land.

onward and upward. pedophiles be damned.
