Weekends are for Pancakes

i know you've seen it before, but this is a better video which actually captures annie in the act of cracking the egg. i don't know why, but it really makes me laugh. perhaps it's that she just goes for it - with such reckless abandon - that brings a smile to my face every time...or perhaps it's that she freezes with egg goo all over and doesn't know how to procede...or perhaps it's that she somehow never ends up with even the tiniest bit of shell in the mix. amazing, that.

in any case, there it is.

we've had quite a nice weekend. it's hotter 'an hades down here so we're just on a mission to stay cool. yesterday i made addison drive us all to the mall because we needed to do a little shopping so we all look presentable at jay and sarah's wedding next month. mission accomplished. i took annie on the carousel, only to have her cling to me and try really hard not to enjoy it, and yet, as soon as it was time to leave she threw a nice little tantrum right there on the floor - blocking the exit for the poor folks that were behind us. it was cute.

we hopped back into the truck, which was approximately 150 degrees, and drove back home to seek the a/c since - at 105 degrees - the truck was struggling to produce much cool air for us on our ride. we put the kids to bed after dinner and addison and i settled in to watch "The Guardian". not bad. but better than that, i stayed up until midnight reading "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"...which i just finished about a half hour ago and i won't say anything except: !

that, and jk rowling is amazing and brilliant and unbelievably imaginative and talented.

and so inspiring.

...and because it's all i want to write about right now, i'll just put in another video instead.

here's jasper thinking his daddy is the funniest thing ever. funnier, i think, than that red balloon from the other day:

hee hee. i love that laugh.

I love that she puts the whole egg in the mix, cracks me up. I tried that trick on Hen last night, the whole hand in mouth, and he died laughing too - good one!!
